Exclamation HELP! Why are my images STILL blurry??

Ok, i'm a first time user of a digital camera and i'm just getting used to loading my photos on the PC. I've been trying to resize the pictures so they'll be smaller but WITHOUT losing image quality. It seems everytime I try to upload them on photobucket, they come out blurry. I've tried several programs that compress photos and all that, but i just don't get how to use them, and they still come out distorted! I've also used the software that came with my camera but it just doesn't seem to work by changing the width and height. Are there any programs that can help me with this problem? Any kind of advise would be must appreciated. Thanks!

Proportion

I can't be sure, without seeing your photos, but one of the problems you may be having when you resize is PROPORTION. If your original photo is 300 pixels x 300 pixels (for example) and you resize it to 200 pixels by 400 pixels, it's going to look rather strange indeed. If your program has a button or menu choice to resize your photos, make sure there is an option to "keep proportion", or to "resize proportionally".

You can resize a 300x300 to anything of EQUAL value, say 150x 150....
You can resize a 6"x 4" to 3"x 2"...

etc.

Does that make sense to you?

Kitty

Well, that actually doesn't look as bad as you may think. What software are you using to resize the photo?
