I wanted to start scrapping years ago when I first saw "Terms OF Endearment" probably misspelled that but oh well, lol. I never got around to trying until I stumbled upon digital scrapping. Then I found a new hobby. I have a friend that paper scraps and she gave me a lot of supplies because I had mentioned that I would like to try that too. I've only made one and a half layout so far (because I have 2 small children and they love all the goodies too, lol). But I do intend to do both because I also love paper scrapping.

I avoided paper scrapping like a plague. I knew it would be a very expensive hobby and so I completely resisted any urges, avoided those aisles at Hobby Lobby, and kept a deaf ear.

Last fall, the person I drew for our Christmas Exchange was a paper scrapper. I got online looking for gift ideas and got sidetracked. I found SBB! Now I'm as hooked to scrapping as I imagined I would be- without all the cost and clutter.

I find myself visiting those aisles at Hobby Lobby these days but I'm still resisting the urge to start paper scrapping.

I started backwards, I guess. I never did paper scapping, or any scrapping, before digital. But now I do paper as well, although it really is limited to cards and mini albums and such. Individual LO's are all digital, baby!

Red face

I MUST CONFESS ---- I am a paperholic. I feel so much better now that I said it. I love the colors, richness, depth and textures of all of that REAL paper. I have been a traditional scrapper for more than 8 years when last fall I read a magazine about digital scrapping. Being the computer nut that I already am I started looking around for more help online and found S-Bytes Immediately I was hooked, inspired and awed by what everyone was doing with their computers. I began making very primative pages, too ashamed to share them but loved what I was learning how to do. One day I finally got up the courage to post an LO, it wasn't painful at all. Now I am obsessed with it all. Now my only problem is finding time to do both. I don't think I could ever give up paper scrapping. And by the way, does anyone else get strange looks from their paper cropping friends when you tell them you scrap on your computer? I can't seem to convince them that that they can do this too!

Mrs. Mead-
My paper scrapping friends have told me that I need to print out some picture and come to a crop instead of computer scrapping! I too am a self proclaimed computer geek (I used to work for a software company doing consulting). So most of my friends think you have to tech savvy to digi-scrap. Eventually I'm going to convert somebody. I know it!

I love them both

I still love to paper scrap. But I haven't touched my stuff since March when darling foster child #5 moved in. I just can't get to it now that I have 5 kids in the house all 3 years old and under. Add to the normal stuff that comes with 5 littles that 3 are medically fragile and it's just insane around my house.

But I still love paper scrapbooking. I'd even say I prefer it over CG layouts.

I started computer scrapbooking for the foster kids. Being able to design a layout then pop in the pictures and use that layout I created again and again for different children that come through the house is just too cool! And then I thought... ahhh grandparents!

Now I've also realized I can't even realistically make paper albums for all my forever kids to cover every even of life. We are already adopting 3 and we hope to adopt more and with fostering too... there's just no way. So now I'm making first year books and ABC of adoption books in paper for each child. But other than that it's all CG layouts.

But for me I want paper books so I can touch them and feel them. I love that part of actually feeling the textures and smelling the papers. It's a sickness I think!

But oh how I love making one layout and just putting new pics in for each child's book. You can't beat the time saving! And best of all I can scrapbook with the baby in my lap. I always have photoshop open and have a layout in progress 24/7. Problem is that I can tell which parts I do during the 4am bottle feeding!

Gosh Jen, you have your hands full there. Here's me complaining about one itsy bitsy puddy cat and you've got all those kids. What I forgot to add earlier is that I was still finding my way around the paper scrapping when I found the digi scrapping . I have now learnt so much through the digi scrapping that I know when I go back to the paper version my pages will be much better. It's a lot easier learning to do something when you can "undo" with the click of a mouse - trying to peel adhesive/glue off ain't quite as easy when you decide you don't like it after its stuck on!! I keep trying to convince myself that as the better weather is now upon us in Scotland that I WILL paper scrap some pages because I don't want to be at a computer in the nice weather, o.k. I've not succeeded yet, gotta keep trying though. Don't know how all you lucky people with loads of sunshiny weather can tear yourselves away from the computer.

I do, but right now not very much. We are in a tiny tiny tiny home, and I got tired of not having the room to do it and enjoy it. I am glad that paper scrapping has finally taken a turn and added all the metals and black papers, since I think the cute stuff is great for others, but not me!

So, right now I am scrapping the extra special photos on the cpu, and when we move (hopefully sooner than later), I will do both again...
