Hi Jenn & Kristie,

Thanks for the advice, checked out your LO's and I can see neither of you have a problem with the journalling side of things!!! Great LO's. I think I find it so hard because I'm not used to expressing myself, I'm soppy in my head but so far I've kept it my secret. Trying to let a little soppiness creep in now and again so it isn't too much of a shock for those who know me. Glad to be a SBB member and get this useful info. from you all.

Jules

I too have found the journaling to be the most difficult part of my LO. When I first started, I really didn't even think about journaling, and now that I have so many hand scrapped LO's (13 albums), I sure wish I had. I think my goal is to just go back and add the 5 W's even briefly on the back of each LO, so future generations will have the info. Very important, but I wish I had thought of it 13 albums ago!

I'm having a placement problem with journalling.
My layouts are intended to be shown on a (widescreen) TV so my pics are 1024 x 576 pixels
I found some disadvanteges.
First of all the border (first 10%) are sometimes shown, sometimes not.
If I only use one pic it's allright. Three at the most! I see a lot of LO with 5 or 6 pics, but that realy is out of the question.
A title needs to be pretty big to be read easily. (At least 40 px)
Any journalling takes up a lot of room. (At least 20 px with Arial another font most of the time has to be bigger)

I see a lot of great layouts with a lot of journalling. I'm afraid I can't really do any of them as long as I want the layout to be shown on tv.
Any suggestions????????

In the next example I put in as much journalling as I possibly could!

So many awesome suggestions here! I am not the best at journaling. I always try to fit in some inof, even if it is just the name, month, and year. I like using quotes. There are many resources for quotes, www.think-exist.com , www.quotegarden.com, peasoup under resourses at www.twopeasinabucket.com , and if you are into scripture there are many sites dedicated to that. We even have our own scripture challenge here in the challenge forum. I kind of think of journaling as an "element", so when you are visualizing the page you could even insert a block and then delete it when you are ready to add your journaling. That way you save space for your journaling. I tend to save that for last, but you can do it when ever you want. Like maybe place your main pic, then journal, and then add smaller photos and elements around the journaling. Just some thougts! -Ali

Thanks for the links Ali, the only one I knew about was two peas. Recently I have found I am using quotes/poems more so I'm off to check out these sites.

Thanks again,
Jules
