They are in our prayers as they try to rebuild their lives. It is hard to loose everything you own! But, I am glad that no one was hurt. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers and hope that they can salvage some of their items.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, thoughts & prayers!

I just talked to Trina (my friend who's house burned). It was a townhouse, so there was a bsmt, main level, upper level. The bsmt is completely destroyed and they didn't let them down there. They don't know what started down there, but apparently it burned thru the floor to where she had an "old fashioned" kerosene lamp which exploded from the heat, causing kerosene to spray thru the livingroom. Her tv, comp etc were melted. The upstairs was untouched by fire but has extensive smoke damage, and their 2 cats were found upstairs, they had died from smoke inhalation. They are starting their insurance processes this morning apparently and trying to get organized.

If they happen to have lost their photographs (which is sounds like they may have) when the time seems appropriate you can mention this bit of advice to them...

Have them ask friends, relatives, etc that have photos that were sent as gifts or to update them on the kids/family to send them back to them... that way they can have their photos again. Or have them get copies from the family and friends. The nice thing about sending pictures to other people is that they keep them safe. Just a bit of info for helping them rebuild ;( Sorry to hear they lost their sweet kitties though.
