Need some layout help!

I'm trying to decide on whether to use the darker, earthier colors or the lighter, seashore colors. I'm also at a loss for a title. Each year I take a B/W photo of my DH and sons. I'm thinking of using a quote on this layout but I don't want to just slap it on there. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated!

I like both layouts, but I'm drawn to the darker ones. I think it's really masculine and strong in the darker colors. Haven't come up with a good quote yet. I'll post here if I find a quote I like. Great picture!

I love both backgrounds and the great photo of your "boys". But I'm more drawn to the blues. I think the earthtones make me think of mens suits which your dh and ds are obviously not wearing.

Here are a couple of quotes I like.

It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons. ~Johann Schiller

For you see, each day I love you more
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.
~Rosemonde Gerard

If you are going to add text to the LO I would suggest adding some above and below the picture. I think it will help balance the LO and fit well in the color blocks you have already defined.

I hope the suggestions help you find the way you like the LO best!

My thoughts-

I definately like the darker tones. The lighter LO kind of feels washed out when I look at it but with the darker one I feel like the B&W really stands out.

I'd prolly write something like :

"No matter how time passes, it is always better spent together."

or

"Two hands with which he helps to shape the character of his apprentices."

(but those would just be my words to describe the relationship of a father and his children... not sure if you'd use them for the relationship with your husband and boys but thought I'd throw them out there.)

To me, the darker one suits the photo better. I think the black and white photo is an awesome touch!

Quote? There are a zillion of them out there! You'll know it when you find it!

Talking THANK YOU!

Thank you all sooooo much for your responses. It is refreshing to actually find some helpful responses to a post on a message board. I'm going to go with the darker colors and save the lighter colored layout for a B/W beach photo!

I really love "No matter how time passes, it is always spent together." It is especially meaningful for us right now for many reasons.

So, who do I credit as the author? I'll probably submit this page and I want to make sure to give you proper credit for that quote.

I'm glad you like that quote, it was something I wrote in my journal a few years ago about a family trip we'd taken... so I guess if you are looking for someone to credit it would just be me! and I'd be very honored if you did use it so please feel free! I think it really sums up the feeling I get when I put off something else to spend time with my kids instead.
