Dumb & Dumber

O.k., I am really dumb but here's the question anyway - when there is a speedscrap and the picture is posted in the gallery how do I get a copy of the picture onto my computer so that I have it to refer to? I tried saving as "save picture as" - no luck. Do I need to print it?

Thanks,
Jules

I always just right click on the pic and save picture as. But, it doesn't work for me unless when saving I type .JPG after the name of the file. Even though JPG is selected in my drop down box, it won't work unless I do that with downloads. Strange I know. Try that and see if it works. After you save if you don't see it, try doing a windows search for the file name and see if it is somewhere else on you hard drive. -Ali

I've just tried what you suggested, no luck. When I try to save the only options available are *ART or Bitmap. Typed JPG after file name but still couldn't view it. Anyone any other suggestions?

A lot of times if your temporary internet file is full IE will only allow you to download as a BMP. Try cleaning out the temporary files.

Yes, I would try to clean out your temp files.. that worked for me a while ago.

Also, you could right click and choose copy, then open a new file in your program and paste it.

Hi Jules-
I had this problem awhile back also. It's what Ashmark and Shelebeen said. Check out this link and follow Method 1:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...650&product=ie

When I speed scrap, I just leave that window open when I'm scrapping. The only reason I save it is if I want to match colors- then I do save it and open it in Photoshop.

Of course having that window open and the chat window probably slows my computer down quite a bit- but hey I don't scrap that fast anyway- LOL!

Hi again,

I've cleared out temporary internet files and tried again, still doesn't work. I'll try copy and paste and see if that works. The reason I want to save it to my computer is I want to have a go before I join in a speedscrap. "Speed" is definitely not my middle name when it comes to scrapping! I reckon I spend more time "undoing" than doing. Thanks for the suggestions and will post back when I find what works on my computer.

Jules
