PSP8 for Dummies..thats me

I just ordered this book...anyone tried it? I have played around with PS8 all weekend and am learning new things. Here is my problem....FOR THE LIFE OF ME.....I CANNOT figure out how to put all of the layers together on one page. It seems like it should be so simple. I have had a blat creating and editing things, but I can't put them together. I am still trying though.. I like it more every day..Thank God for a 60 day trial period!

Help Help!

Here is how to get the items all on one page. There are other ways also but this is how I do it. Using the magic wand click anywhere on the page that has the element or picture. Then go to Selections - Invert if the item you are using isn't a square. Now copy - then click on the page where you are going to place all your items and then go to Edit - Paste as a new layer. There you go. Do this for all your items and you have a LO. Hope this helps. Make sure you place each item on its own layer so you can move them around.

I think I understand what you're asking. If you're talking about making a layout where you start a new page, and you want to add different files to the "new" layout, here's what I do. Right click on the blue bar at the top of the element file you want to add, and click copy, or the keyboard command is ctrl+c then go to the "new" layout that you want to add it to. Make sure the blue bar at the top is highlighted by left clicking it. (If you left click the new layout, you can use ctrl+l as a keyboard command, and it will automatically paste itself as a new layer.) If you right click the mouse on the new backgrounds blue bar, there is a command that says paste as new layer. That will do the same thing. Whichever way works for you.

Wow-is your head spinning? Mine is! LOL! Hope this helps!

Boy Donna! You are not kidding about an ambitious project. I would like to think of myself as somewhat intelligent and whew....this is a toughie...I am going to stick with it though! After seeing all of the creations here - it will be so worth the time and frustration!
