Help me save this photo...

Can someone pls provide some suggestions for saving this photo?? The grass and closest bushes are badly overexposed... but it one of the only photos where my sister looks relaxed and happy. I'd appreciate any suggestions...

Cheers

Anna

Photo Repair

I played with your photo with some filters and this is what I came up with. I tried a lot of things but the bushes and grass are very over exposed. Another idea would be a vignette around the pic. Hope you don`t mind.

Here's my try, too hard to explain since I do it the hard way and actually add in missing items such as grass, sidewalk and color to the leaves. I also muted/changed the colors a tad as I am assuming that they really are not orange, but rather a nice tan color ..hehehe

Been working on the grass and widewalk. Since I was having no luck with the original grass, I added some from a similar picture ... It is still really light, but I thought I'd have more luck fixing colors from this instead of the original pixels... Thoughts?

Really good job on the sidewalk and grass, good idea to pick it from another photo from the same day.
Orange was too strong of a color choice, it is more like possibly under exposed...it could possibly be from be saved in a smaller size also for the web. Or it could have been just too late last night and I wasn't seeing clearly anymore. hehee
But you're right, your sis is beautiful and it is a great photo!

You could clone out the path altogether with the grass - this very quick and dirty edit (so excuse the halo), I cloned out the path then selected all the light grass and foliage and darkened as a separate layer, then used curves and color balance to get the skin tones approx
