I have ACDSee and have the fonts organized on my harddrive. I have sub-folders for handwriting, sans-serif, script, grunge, commercial-use alpha, commercial use other. I also use The Font Thing but when I use it I only use it to view and install fonts, not to organize them. I'd rather do it through ACDSee. Also, I find that TFT tends to hang up and that really annoys me.

do you find that every font has a preview typically or do you just make sure and grab it from where you download? that's my only concern is that I may not remember to grab it or does ACDSee actually "see" the ttf's?

nevermind LaWanna - lol I see now you can - how cool. Off to get some fonts on this newly formatted computer. Defaults are sucky.

I've tried em all.. none of them are perfect (quirky things).. I use FontExpert.. but still wish there was something better. Note.. I do use ACDSee Pro 2 to organize the fonts.. only use FE to view and temp/perm install them..

In ACDSee- open the folder that has your fonts- on the menu tab Click Database> Rebuild Thumbnails. Then open your program. This makes the fonts temporarily available. (Though sometimes not allof them may load) I usually simplify my text layer if I have used a font that isn't loaded. I use the Font thing also. Here's a tutorial for using uninstalled fonts through ACDSee from digiscrapinfo
ACDSee Photo Manager allows you to use Uninstalled Fonts in your scrapbooking program | Digital Scrapbooking Info

that's an interesting trick! Although I like to install the fonts that I want to use for a project so they are available for the length of the project (which can take several weeks to complete).. this is a neat trick if you want to use a font quickly for a brief time..
