*ugh* journaling...

I am having the hardest time with journaling these days... which is funny for me because usually i have to decrease my thought to fit them on a page.

I just spent 20 min and 6 sheets of paper for one little 5 line paragraph about a camping trip. and I am still not happy with it but it is down and I AM NOT CHANGING IT!!!!

I have also been trying to journal more by hand so i can use my new fun markers... and what a pain... spacing and strait lines even with a ruler i cant get the lines strait and the spacing right.. I need a stamp that has lines... with disappearing ink or a stencil that has lines i can trace with a pencil and erase later....

Ok so what are your journaling frustrations or hints... for both digital traditional and hybrid... PLEASE SHARE!!!! I NEED HELP

Gotta laugh and have to agree with you. I tend to be a "wordy" writer and struggle with getting my thoughts narrowed down to the availabe space.

Because I have to write a lot for work (letters, manuals, bulletins) I find the easiest thing to do is just start typing - I don't worry about spelling or sentence structure - I just fire away. Then I go back and edit. Chocolate helps too

Sometimes, i do a writing exercise in which I right my topic in the middle of the paper. Draw a circle around it and then all around it write whatever you can think of related to that topic. Then so the same things to those sub-topics. It helps get your juices flowing. I used to do that in college when I was writing papers.

Shelleyrae, to avoid sounding gushy, avoid cliches like the plague and just write honestly, try to clear your inhibitions. I know that's hard - I struggle with it too, especially when I get in a hurry..

Thank you for all the advise.. My hubby says that I don't wright the way that I talk.. and that is so true.. when i am journaling i am trying to be so creative and proper... I am woried that if i wright the way I talk that people down the road might not get it because of all the random words i use that you would have to know me to understand... dose that make sence?

And of course i earned every bad grade i ever received in english so my grammar is horrid to say the least. And as of late i find that i am really struggling with descriptive words I am getting board with my same old same old... I was noticing that the other day when i was leaving comments... thinking man I always use the same words.

When journaling in your scrapbook do you feel it is better to talk in the first person and then sign the journaling so that they know who is talking or talk in the 3rd person... like she did this and they went there?
