Question Movies within LOs?

Why do I think I asked this question already? My mind really is aging!

Anyway, does anyone know if there is a way to incorporate a movie (like a quicktime movie) or a sound file (like an mp3) within a layout. Here is what I am envisioning: I want to do a series of layouts about songs so I want to I plan to scrap the lyrics, but I would like to encorporate an image or something that someone can click within the layout and then the movie or sound file would start.

TIA for any and all help!

Well, I can think of a few ways you could do this. You could either use the scrap page image as the link and when someone clicks it you could point them to your movie or sound file. Alternately you could cut up the image and make it an html page and embed the video or sound. If you know flash you could use that.

Thanks! Ok, I am falling asleep while I am reading this so I went "what?" when I read what you wrote, but I have a feeling that when I wake up I will be able to process what you said.

The first way you mentioned would be like your flicker blinkie, right? You did by an IMG code, right? The second way, I have read on because I don't know html or flash (but I don't mind learning). How hard/time consuming is it to learn them?

Yes, if you are going to post it on a forum you could just use an img and url code to link to your media file.

If you want to go the html route, you'll want to learn CSS too. How long it would take you to learn would depend on how much you know already and how complicated you want to make it. If you *do* want to learn, I recommend http://w3schools.com

For something less involved than learning whole new markup languages, I remembered this site: http://www.scrapblog.com I haven't tried it much but it does have alot of media support.

I guess it all depends on how you want to present the end result.

After I posted that, it occurred to me that there are probably some WYSIWYG website editors that you could try doing this with too. You might try Freewebs or Piczo.

I also use FlipAlbum to create softcopy scrapbook albums with music and voice. But scrapblog looks very interesting, too!
