online storage

Have any of you ever used this? https://mozy.com/?ref=VGV9C7 Mozy has a great deal of $4.95 a month for unlimited but right now we are tight and I can not do it. Maybe in a few months. You can get 2 gb's free and if you sign up from a referral you get an extra 256 mb's free and so does the person who gave the referral. If anyone wants to use this my referral is the link at the top.

Also I would like any feedback from anybody who has used this. The first back up was really slow but from now on it only backs up new files in subfolders and any files with changes. I have it set to do this once a week. Do you think that is too often? I have EHD but then I think about disasters and not having anything if one happened...I know how crazy.

I use it and like it. I haven't had to recover anything but it's good to know that I can if I need to. I back up from my internal and external drives. That was important to me since I have lots of photos, scrap stuff and designer stuff. So far I've backed up over 200G without any issues. I did have a technical problem when I first signed up and I got prompt response and solutions plus they extended me for the time I'd been unable to back things up correctly.

Thanks, that is awesome to know!! Most likely I will pay for it when we get that rebate check this summer...until then I will be using the free space. How long did it take to back up 200gb's? I know it compresses it so it is smaller but still.

It did take quite a bit of time but I use my computer alot. It goes much faster when I'm not on the computer. I would say that I backed up about 5 to 10G a day depending on my usage. I also have 4G of RAM so that makes things go faster in general. I'm not sure what others experienced but it wasn't a bother for me.

I have to to say I bit the bullet and moved my budget around. I can not pass up a good deal. I have a promo code to get 25% off (if you want it PM me) and if you get two years you get 3 months free so I got 2 yrs for $77.97 or $3.25 a month. I have to say that is not much for peace of mind. I kept the free account to back up the small amount of stuff on my DH's laptop.
