Cool Do you re-do old layouts?

I was looking through some of my old (really old) layouts and all I can think is UGH! A couple I have just made minor changes to... like coloring some brushwork differently.... but I have other layouts that are so BAD, so BORING, that something MUST be done!

Am I alone in this? There should be some kind of a challenge for before & afters or something! lol I remember at one time that someone did one.... Is there another coming up?

I have a list of old layouts that need to be redone. Every now and then, I do one. I also think it would be really fun to have a challenge for updating our old, scary layouts.

I usually go back and do add ons in terms of adding a photo or so, but complete redo's I haven't yet done, but I would be up for a challenge!

Maybe it could even be a "cross challenge": one person would highlight a lo of theirs they don't like and someone else could redo it and vice versa. Just a thought.

I have redone a couple but I think there will be a handful more I will do again in the future!

As a standard I tell my students dont change your old los... They tell the story of where you where as a craft er at the time... But of course there are exceptions to the rules..

If the lo dose not really tell the story by all means please redo it... Sometimes i find I just forgot to add something..

I have a few lo's that when i first did them i did a little oops and just tried to work with it instead of taring it apart and fixing it... those los i have gone back and keep the same elements but just really fixed the oops...

If you look at the page and cant see the photos through the horror then FIX IT hehe

I am in the processes of finishing my dd's baby album that I started 8 years ago and I have found the need to change i would say maybe 6 of the 30 lo's most where just small things like misspelled titles or horrid bg paper so i just had to disassemble and then resemble with new bg paper... but i had 2 that when not awful but they so did not tell the story in any way shape or form so those i totally redid.

Just dont get so wrapped up in the redo ... that you dont do any new.

Aaaah - I have wondered how many people do this in the past as well! I would LOVE to re-do some of my earlier pages - but I am overwhelmed by the number of them, and I finally realized that one - my scrapping has definitely came a long way since those days - and that I can be proud of such, and two - people are not going to be judging how well my work was done - they (mostly my son - Ethan) will be grateful that I captured and recorded these moments - something he will have forever!!

I started a book of my son's childhood when I first started scrapping and have yet to finish it. I was thinking that now that my scrapping style has changed, that I have better goodies, and better software, that I should start over - but there are quite a few. I'm going to take a cue from Jessica's post and just name the first pages "The Early Years" with it's double meaning.
