Laptop in my lap?

Hey! I wanted to see if anyone had found some sort of stand or pillow/board/thingamajig to use when working on your laptop in your lap. Does that make sense? Anyways, I like to work with my laptop in my lap while scrapbooking but 1. it gets hot, 2. there is nowhere to use the mouse and 3. it just doesn't really work. So, maybe that is a hint that I should sit at a table. nah! Any help would be appreciated. Nicole

I used to do the same thing (but I used the touchpad, so didn't need a place for a mouse) and had the same problem...especially when I was 9 months pregnant, and after the baby came and needed my lap! So, we bought some of those TableMate II tables. They used to be advertized on tv a lot. they're white wth white legs and they fold u to go under your couch or chair or whatever, and they can b pulled as close to you as you need it. We bought ours at the grocery store (we have really cool grocery store). I dunno if off-site links are allowed, so here's a picture.

Anyway, if you google it, they're easy to find. I have a 15" laptop and an EHD and have plenty of room for my mouse (which I now have to use 'cause dh made my touchpad not work LOL).

Yes I have seen other threads where they talk about these huge almost pillow type things that a laptop sits on. Then there are also cooling pads (my son has a cheap one for his laptop and it really works!)

so I know that stuff like what you are looking for is out there.

Waterdog, yes you can link to sites that offer us a service like this!

I've seen laptop desk things at Barnes and Noble. They are like a pillow on the bottom with a flat surface on the top. I've thought about getting one but don't use the laptop that much.

I found a second use for one of my sewing supplies, a small cutting/pressing matte that I use for quilting. I put the laptop on the cutting side. The padded side makes it comfy on my lap. It's the perfect size.

I just use a light weight board- it's about 12 x36 inches- --wide enough to reach from arm to arm- I usually sit in a recliner or rocker. I can use the mouse or a graphics tablet on one side and still room for munchies on the other side.
