photo montage of lo

I want to make a montage of my layouts with music, tranistions...I was thinking of using Windows Movie Maker-the freebie on the computer. However, I want to be able to post the project on our family website for all of us to see. Any ideas of how I do this? Do I have to save it at a host site-like photobucket??

yes.. you can use the freebie.. I use and recommend proshow gold or producer but it does cost some $$$.. I use PSP about once a week for making client DVD's.. easy, quick and wonderfully professional looking.. options built right in to save for website gallery and then upload.

To post on the family website, you'll need to be sure to put the finished product in a format that others can see.. Again, PSP does this and creates it so you just click Play and off you go.. if you want to create a self running exe.. then you can upload the file to somplace free like rapidshare.com and your family can download the file and run on their PC.

Check out these for some idea of what I'm talking about... great software! You'll just need to install a firefox/IE plugin to view the slideshow... its safe! http://www.photodex.com/sharing/spot...shows_peg.html

Your welcome... to be honest.. it looks difficult but is really easy. Load the program, choose where your layouts are, then just drag and drop the pages into the timeline on the bottom of the screen. You can double-click each slide to add captions or motion effects. You can also drag/drop an .mp3 audio file to the timeline to add music. Then, you can preview it in the little player on the right. When you are done, just click the button on the top for the function you'd like to dol... slideshow, DVD, etc.

Let me know if you need help or advice... I'm pretty proficient with this program.

Hmmm - this is a great idea ... Does anyone know of a program that I could make a slideshow with transitions and music that I can burn to DVD and play in a regular DVD player? I know some program save only in formats that will play on that specific computer program. It would be great if you guys knew of trial versions, so I could try some out and see what works - my mother in law wants me to make a video of my father in law's life so far and she wants me to do it for next weekend (Aye Carumba)

the same program I mentioned above... Proshow Gold/Producer will do exactly what you ask.. and they do have trial versions for you to try out (although it will watermark the final product).

Any software that allows you to burn the slideshow to DVD will work in your regular DVD player so long as your player will read DVD-R disc (which almost every player does now).

Good Luck.
