Question Has anyone worked with the printable acetate sheets???

Good morning all.... I am making an album for some ladies that where on my volunteer committee last year at school. I just go the cd last night from the school photographer of the photos. I have been trying to decide what to do with them... I really like the idea of a chip board album and I love the color of chipboard but I have to make 4 of the same thing so of course digital is totally the answer... so My question is this.. what if i did pages with white bg and them printed thin off on acetate sheets.. and backed that with chipboard... what you you all think... will color look right if i print it on a clear surface and not a white one?

In my experience, the colors don't look the same when you print on acetate. They are brighter and a little popped up, like when you use the "overlay" blending mode. The see-through nature of the acetate also affects the density of the color and the color of the paper/backing you put under it also changes the tones...I'd do a test print and see what you think. Let us know how your project comes out!

The only real problem would be finding an adhesive that didn't leave strange markings and dried properly. DMD industries use to make a nice light-weight cardstock that was similar to the natural chipboard, but I have no idea if they still manufacture it.

I will be doing projects like this with my daughters next month (yes, a paper/digital project). The plan is to make the digital layout, print it off and use mod podge to glue down the pages into the chipboard books I picked up in the city. It was the easiest way I could think of as my girls (8 & 12) will be assembling the books since I can't see well enough to do that part.

Good luck, and have fun making them!

ok... hmmmmmmmm I know I am so making this harder than it has to be.... The photos that will go in to the albums are of us in the parking lot on bus duty... so the bg is mostly trees building and lots of black top... dotted with bright yellow school bussed and orange cones... We are all waring beautiful sexy neon yellow vests... so finging a color that is going to work is a little donting... That is why I thought chip board would be nice..... This might have to become more traditional than digital.

A great way to adhere acetate to something is with stitching from a sewing machine or staples. I'm not sure how thick your chipboard is, though. Maybe you could attach your printouts to a piece of white cardstock and then glue to the chipboard...I'm with Shelleyrae--print them out, you just might like how it turns out!

Thanks for the ideas ladies... But i just had an epiphany... my printer is broken DUH!!!! So i am going with good old digi this time and then i will glue the pages to the chipboard after i get them back form the printers. But another question. What do you think is the best size for this I was thinking maby 8x8 but if i do that size should i still make the pages 12x12 in the puter in case i want to print them larger at one point... or do you thing that might cause me to mis judge the final size of stuff on the printed 8x8 lo........... Man do i confuse myself or what.
