I've done crocheted and toothbrush rugs...and my grandmother used to do the corded ones...I think they are beautiful...and the things they would save to make things out of...even unraveling feed sacks to crochet with...

I have actually been thinking about the things I learned from my Grandma a lot lately. She passed away just a few months ago... and everyday i feel i am gaining more of her traits...

Grandma saved and reused everything.... and it was passed down to me. I still have a hard time tossing out things I know could be used for something else.
* bags always save bags, bread bags, bags that paper dishes come in all bags
* most of my tupperware is made up of butter tubs, cool whip tubs ect.
* the back of the fliers and notes that the girls bring home from school are perfect to be cut up into scratch pads, or run through the printer for test prints.
* everything can be used as a craft supply... and if it cant you are not thinking hard enough hehe
