Font credit question

I never recorded credits for my older layouts. I could probably figure out the designers; however, to figure out the fonts used would take more time than it's worth.

Should I just not post these layouts, or should I post with "font unknown" if I can't easily identify them?

I'd put "font unknown" with a blurb "need help..if you know"...or some such. I've seen plenty of LO's with no font credits at all.

I agree. As a designer I always appreciate a credit in a layout, but I hate to see someone not put a layout up because they don't know who to credit. We want to see it!

In Photoshop if you open your layout and click on the font tool it defaults to the last font used on that layout.

I agree! Just put up something like "help - if you know the designer or font, please pm or post here" and your good! Let's see 'em!

I'd say post it! Actually I don't always see fonts in the credits. You could always say something like "Oops, forgot to mark down the fonts I used"

I can usually remember the names of the fonts I use but if the designer's name isn't somehow incorporated into the fonts name, I don't always remember who created what font. *wow, that was a long sentence... breathe in*
I guess I need to be better marking down what font creators I have before I save my font files away. Is there an easier way to tell who created the font other than opening the font file itself?

Thanks for the suggestions. I think that I will go back and post some of those oldies. With those free fonts sites I went a little overboard, so I have too many to scroll through, and some of them look pretty similiar.
