Question Walnut inking or chalking edges-how do you do it?

I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to do a walnut ink type of coloring for an edge of a piece of paper or an envelope? I have tried using the colorize brush, but for some reason, the color doesn't show up dark like it shows in the little color chooser circle thingy. I can use the eyedropper and choose a dark brown, but when I use the brush on my "paper", it comes out very light, sometimes almost invisible! (I have also tried the paintbrush tools: chalk, airbrush--the effect is not what I want.)

Does anyone else have this problem? I am using DIPv9.

If anyone can write a tutorial on how to do this, I'd love to learn! I guess you can also call it a chalked edge or burnt edge.

TIA!
Clara

Hi Clara

To create the edges use Effects> Paintbrush> ArtStroke ..choose a colour and size and a type of brush eg a chalk brush for chalking or a watercolour brush would work well for walnut ink.

Paint on as desired

Does that help?

I use Photoshop - but maybe it might help? What I do is to use a fough brush and make sure the spacing is waaaaay wide.
