Question SHELLYRAE!!!! Help!

Hi Shellyrae-

I've long admired your l.o.'s, and I'd love you to help me with one.

My grandmother just p***ed away on Sat. My family knows how much I love to work with pictures, and they've asked me to do a tribute for her service this weekend.

I love your happy 80th birthday l.o. with all of the squares. I want to do one just like it for my granny. I have PSP or Picture It. How did you get the squares so uniform? I'm hoping to do a 16x20 print out. It's going to take tons of memory, but I want a really clear print out. How big did you make the squares? How big should I make the squares if I'm trying to do such a large l.o.?

If you or anyone else can help me, I'd be forever greatful. I'm on a pretty short time limit. Thank you! Thank you! in advance for any help anyone can give.

wow, sorry to hear that. and sorry that i can't help with either of those programs. i just wanted to encourage others to pop in here though, because shelleyrae's been pretty sick lately and might not be able to help quickly. feel free to post a link here and ask for help!
but i'd suggest a sneaky thing i've used (usually with sketches). save her image then open it in your program. resize it to your needs, then use it as a background guide. or make it a top semi-transparent layer and place your layers under it. that helps you size and line things up. but hopefully some psp or pi users can be more specific. hth. In DIP
To make lots of squares, just make one and size it to suit. Hold down Ctrl button and press D 5 times for 5 copies etc. Line up approximately where you want them then select them all. Now go to format>align multiple objects then select space horizontally then go back and select space vertically. If you are doing more than one row of squares, I think you need to select the squares from one row at a time.

Hi
KimLizzy has the right answer.
You need to figure out what the final square size will be on your final printing size an dthen reduce the size proportionally to make it manageble for a layout to work on.
Add a square size it then duplicate it to fit the width of your page. Use the Align tools to align
Now group that row and fill your whole page. Then ungroup teh whole lot so you can work on individual squares. To fill the squares select a square and choose Fill with picture ..double click on your photo .. manipulate to get the pic in teh right place and do teh same for every square.
Its time consuming and make sure you save the project every few squares!

Hope that helps ..yell if you need more help
