Question PhotoshopElements2

I can identify with the newbie with the tired hiney. Me too. I sat here and played all day, but I am so computer illiterate I am embarr***ed to ask questions. But, ok, here goes. I visited the 'charm' download today, but was afraid to download it, because I don't know how to get it out and onto my PS image. I never tried that, and am stumped. Any advice?

the easy way to do this is to make a folder on your hard drive that you can remember the name of. Mine is sbb elements. when you down load it make sure you save it to that folder and open it in the same folder. that way you have the zip for later if you don't want to open it right then.
you then open your photoshop program and go to file : open : select the folder you saved and opened it in click the opened one not the zip file and it should open in photoshop for you just fine.
I hope i understood your question and was able to help you with it

Cool

Good Morning, Folks!
I'm getting excited! I've belonged to this list for a couple months, but was never able to sign on before! (Shows how C illiterate I can be--I've used C since the Apple IIe in the 80s, but my old memory is the problem)
I've received Photoshop Elements and a 'how to use' book for Christmas. We are in our FL condo; the computer here is HP Pavilion 524w, has XP. We bought it last year, should have enough Ram, etc for CS. Right?
I've used an old CS program, Micrografix Draw 6 to do a few layouts. ANy helpful hints on what to try next would be welcome!

Welcome, Snowbird. Have you checked out the tutorial section here? Most of the Photoshop tutorials will work with PSE. I just checked, and way down at the bottom of the page is a tutorial by Margie on doing your first layout.

I use PSE, and sometimes things are a little different in PSE than in PS. If you can't find what they're talking about, try the PSE help. That'll usually take you where you need to go.

Good luck, and don't hesitate to ask more questions.

Hi, CS Experts,
I have installed my PS Elements and am fooling around 'fixing' red eye. I haven't mastered it yet; but have definitely made improvements. My problem is always that I don't understand terminology, ie, Gaussian, saturation, etc.!

Hi Snowbird! I hope you're enjoying your new software! I'm a PSE user, too, and know what you mean about learning the terms. I felt the same way when I started it, too. Just have fun with it and try out all the filters and layer styles on an experimental project until you're familiar with the terms and find some favorites. And be sure to holler when you have questions! Good luck!
