Hi! I am working on my 2nd digi LO ever and I have a problem...

I am using PSE 5.0 and whenever I add a drop shadow, my canvas size changes! I just added one and it changed from 12x12 to 14.4x14.4...what am I doing wrong?

When it changes you canvas size, is is still 3600x3600 (12x12x300ppi) or does it increase that measurement too? I am just wondering if it adjusts the ruler's inches, but not the actual page size.
