Yhay me :)

I have a new computer.... and it likes digital scrapbooking.... YHAY ME!!!!
Long story short my old computer esploded... and now getting the thing to boot up takes at least 12 tries and 20 in. So being my life line to all that is going on at dd school. And not being able to to one of my 2 jobs with out it. Hubby got me a new one... and i can't believe that i am not totally hyperventlating at spending more than 20$ at a time lol. So now i have like 5billion questions because this dose sooooooooooo much more that my other one never did. And i now have windows xp ( not windows 95 :P ) but i will just start with some few about saving my digital files to disk. I CAN DO THAT NOW WAHOOOOOO!!!
Ok if i can get my files of the old computer and i mean IF What is the best kind of disk to save them on RW or just R? And one more thing. I know nothing about disks so tell me this please if i put a file on a cd can i add to that file? or how it gos on is all that is going in? I am just trying to figure out what files will have to stay on my computer and how many i can get onto cd.

Thank you for joining me in my happy dance Please come again lol... ( sorry i am running on lack of sleep )

Yippee Jess, I am so happy for you (((Hugs))) I have been so happy since my DH gave me the amazing Christmas present (a new computer) well, the life changes! I am sure yours will too, for one you will have to learn and that is always good and useful, I'm lucky since I've got a geeky lovely husband who helps me with everything (read does everything for me) The CD question: no I don't think you can add to that file later. But if you use multisession when creating a disc, you can add other files at a later date. DVDs ? I know I use Nero and do data DVDs to have a backup, but if like me you'd have 20 discs worth of data to transfer from one computer to the other, then of course it is better to invest into RW. For transfer though it is much better to ask a dh if he is geeky to make a network connection to copy files over, saves a lot of time and trouble for you Anyway, have fun, and I hope it all goes well for you and your new square friend
