Printing disappointment

I uploaded to Walmart some 4 X 6 pictures from Kim Lizzy's birthday brag book and from Heather Heinzer's new brag book template and all of them came back trimmed and less than 4X6.

Shouldn't they have been just fine!! is it because I did the1 hour photo and they automatically cropped it?? Is there places out there that don't do that?

They don't look too "bad" but I know that they aren't perfect!!

advice anyone??

My experience is with Costco. They always crop the top and bottoms off all their 4x6 prints. The person in the photo center I spoke with says that this is done automatically with all their 4x6. So when I want that size, I make sure to put an allowance so that when they crop, it's not noticeable.
What was nice about them was that they allowed me to return the prints since I was not satisfied with them.

Walmart should let you return them.

We use their online 1 hour photo all the time and I've never noticed this...Guess I'll need to really pay attention next time.....

Oh no Lisa! So sorry to hear about that! How did you make out? Did you head back there and find out anything or about returning the prints and/or reimbursed? Would love to know their return policy on something like this too...

going to take them back tomorrow when I pick up some other prints I did (left a border)

what irks me the most is... if you look at the print view on the website...it doesn't show them being cropped!! uggg

Most photo printers do this. Don't know why but it just happens. It won't show up in any viewing areas, and it is not something the lab associates can control -- unfortunately! Its definitely a good idea to keep important stuff about an 1/8 inch from the edge of your image. This drives me crazy, but at least we can anticipate it and correct it beforehand!

**eta-- btw, I am so excited to find out that shutterfly is now printing 8x8 and 12x12 bound books -- for cheap!! Or at least way cheaper than I've ever been able to find. It looks like you can do full bleed pages but I'm gonna have to email them to clarify that.

I notice this as well with Costco whenever I request photos without border. I found that for the 12x18 I need to reduce the file by 2 pixel per inch to fit perfectly.
