I own it and use it and like it. It comes with software that allows you to adjust each scan before actually scanning. Yes, it might be time consuming but if you have some really old negatives from the 70's or 60's it will do a nice job restoring colors and eliminating dust and scratches.
I read the review to which SR linked above. I'm not an expert so I don't really understand what the reviewers did not like. Considering that we scrap at 300 dpi I don't think that scanning at 3600 dpi is a limitation.
Anyways, just my 2cents.
