Journaling question

I am new to digital scrapbooking just within the past week and have become addicted already. I discovered it because I am trying to make a scrapbook for my in-law's 50th anniversary and was overwhelmed at the thought of paper scrapbooking. What I would like to do is have a place on each page that I print that my mother-in-law could write on herself since I don't know all the information behind all the pictures. Has anyone ever tried this? Should I put an actual paper tag for her to write on? (p.s. I am so new it took me 1/2 hour to figure out how to post this thread).

I know other members have done this in the past. I'm not sure how they did it but I would put a lighter color journal block (probably cream, white, something that the pen will show up on when she journals on it) on the layout.
Also, if you print it on matte paper it may be easer to journal on than glossy paper.

I've done blank baby albums before! I printed them on matte paper so the pen would write easily and I didn't have to fight with the gloss of the photo. Of course, a professional matte print still has gloss to it, so if you go that route, I'd add the paper tag on top. It would be a cute look.

I like the extra tag idea! Totally takes away the pressure of writing on the actual layout too. But there are two pens that work great on slick surfaces if you have to go that route. One is the "Vellum Writer" by EK Success, and the other is called a "Slick Writer". Both can be found at your LSS (local scrapbook store). Good luck with the album!
