Cool Help with Type of Paper for Printing Layouts

I'm a very old scrapbooker and a very new digital scrapper. I have a printer which will print up to 16x19, and want to print 12x12 layouts. What type of paper should I print on? Up to 8.5x11 I use matte photo paper, but have no idea what to do for larger sizes. Can anyone offer suggestions as to type of paper, where to get it, etc.

Thanks! I'm looking into it online I found a website for Unitek that carries the Epson 12x12 matte photo paper for 10.95. I will try a couple kinds and see what works.

I'd use whatever you're comfortable with and like. I prefer the matte paper myself. I have tried tons of different papers. I have no experience with the larger sizes, however. I know that Best Buy and Fry's Electronics carries some of the larger Epson papers here locally but I can't justify the splurge on a large format printer yet (I do need a new printer though).

Ya know, I have used sooo many differetn papers for my LO's and have come to one conclusion. My printer is an hp and the hp papers and inks are just made to work best with it, and they really do. IWe are a single income fam, and I am back in college, so I experimented a LOT to try and save some green, but honestly, it wasn't worth it. When I finally shelled out the cash for papers and ink compatible with my printer, I was astounded at the difference. Nope, really NOT on hp's payroll either . Matt, semi, glss...totally subjective, whatever looks best to you. Matt finish is easiest on the eyes, and to me, just has an overall artsier feel to it. Gloss has a photo-studio feel to it. Guess it just depends on what look you are after. If you choose to go with cardstock, as many do, keep in mind that your colors a little less vibrant and darker colors may be darker, just because of the higher absorbancy rate - not a bad thing necessarily, just a look that didders from the coated papers. HTH.
