Son/daughter layout ratios: are they equal?????

This issue came up twice for me today- the first time I read a comment that someone had left on someone else's layout about how they didn't even know the poster even HAD a son because I guess they must have just noticed all her daughter layouts! Then, I was emailing a friend (a GUY!) and after seeing some pics, he writes: "You like to take a lot of pictures of your daughter, I hope your sons don't get jealous." LOL OMG- that really stung and I know he didn't mean for it to. So of course I emailed him every boy layout I've ever done LOL

Are you guilty of this? My excuse is that I LOVE the pink and the flowers and all the girly stuff and I think boy layouts are so much harder (more journaling, less cute elements available to distract from lack of journaling, etc, etc.) Besides, my boys don't ham it up like she does and they don't have time to sit there and pose- maybe this summer I'll get more action pics.... Ok, tell me your stories so I don't feel so terrible! Have you been accused?

Claudia,
I have thought about this many many times. It's a joke aroudour house that my dd Kelly loves to have her picture taken!! She even takes them of herself, and practiced for her senior pictures! HA! I have counted layouts, and I am guilty of the above "crime." I love doing layouts for Kelly because the kits and elements are so pretty!! I have also done a lot of layouts of Cory that I haven't uploaded yet. So don't feel guilty. I have read comments concerning this a lot. Everytime I feel a little guilty, I do a layout of Cory and then I'm OK. LOL

Hahahah! Guilty as Charged! I have 2boys and a girland my daughter is the only one who doesn't run when she sees the camera coming! One of my sons is heavily into sports so I snap hispics when there'snot athing e can do about it. The other one avoids the camera like...well, about like his mama does! Ya gotta work with what you have!

When I started digiscrapping I had 1 boy and one girl so I tried to go "every other".

Since I had my 3rd (a girl) 19 months ago I kinda lost track LOL!
Occasionally I take "inventory" to check that it's somewhat even.

ETA: ok I took an inventory LOL- here goes:

Samuel almost 5 years old:
72

Rachel was 3 in January:
65

Alicia 19 months:
36

then I have:
24 with Samuel and Rachel together
3 with Rachel and Alicia together
2 with Samuel and Alicia together
4 with all 3 of them together

this doesn't include cards though

Great thread Claudia - thanks!

Oh, dear. Guilty!!

In my defence: I only got a digital camera 2 years ago. Makes it a LOT easier to snap pics with, PLUS it's faster to scrap (no scanning, etc). ON TOP OF THAT my son (just turned 9) has hit the 'I'm too cool for pictures" phase. My daughter, who is 4, LOVES to have her picture taken. So, she wins.

HOWEVER, to further my defence, I haven't backtracked to all of my son's baby pics, of which there are FAR more of, so it may yet even out. IF I ever get that far...

Now I have guilt...

*going to dig for baby pics*

Interesting! I have thought about this before, but I think (unconciously, interestingly) I do about the same. I just counted my 'to be printed' folder of LOs (I have 3 girls and a boy, but scrap my youngest 2 the majority of the time, so just counted their folders)

53 of dd
51 of ds
22 together

Pretty equal!

On a side note...over 100 layouts 'to be printed' Ai yi yi.

I think it is funny that you are all doing the girls lo becuse of all the cute frilly stuff. I have only girls but as i am looking at my lo. they could be boys ....LOL not a lot of flowers around hehe. My self and my oldest are both tomboys. my little one is princess all the way. When i told her to go and get shoes on to go outside she picked dress up high heals lol. Good luck with keeping things even. ....
Oh but i think this also brings up another thing.... do you do a family album.... one per child..... or occasion albums....hmmmm good question if i do say so my self i think i will start a thread on this . Ok this is the link to the question if you would like to put in your 2 cents http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/chat/...061#post179061

LOL Claudia!!! I KNEW you were gonna say something about me when I saw the topic of this thread! LOL! I *hope* everyone knows that I have a son as well as a daughter. LOL!

I fully admit that I do more pages of Olivia. Why?? Because I now have a digital camera and I'm with her all day long to take pics anytime I please. She has started running from the camera though, so I have to take about 50 to get one decent enough to scrap. My son is just a grump. Most times he sees the camera, I get a horrid face out of him. Who wants to see that?!?! I did happen to get some great pics of him this month, so I will be scrapping those. In fact, I've scrapped 2 of them already. I have made a more concentrated effort to try and take as many pics of him this month as I have Olivia too.

Like someone else said though, I have TONS of pics of him as a baby that aren't scanned. I just need to get the scanner hooked up to this computer so I can start on that. AND I need to figure out how to make the quality worthwhile too. You would see much more of him if I could get that to happen.

For now though, you will just have to see more of my sweet girl's face than my rotten boy's. LOL
