No more comments on my layouts here

Has something changed with this site? It seems like none of the layouts I have posted recently have received any comments to speak of. I used to get comments on my layouts and it would always give me a great warm fuzzy feeling. I always looked at the galleries of those who commented and gave them comments back. I also comment on layouts posted around the same time I post a layout. If I take part in a crop or event I would comment on the layouts other attendees post.

I really don't want to come off sounding like one of those whiney folks who complain that their posts don't get replied to, etc. I am just wondering why the big change in comments. Did people go to a different digi scrapbook site? If so, someone please PM me and let me know where people are at. I am looking for more of that community feeling.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it...or if it's just me...but the whole site lately has been loading SO slowly that I can't do much at all. I come here with the intent of doing several things but it takes so long to load every page that I give up before I have even accomplished half of what I intended.

I think that the time of day they are entered makes a difference. If you UL them late at night, they tend to get 'pushed to the side' and then into the second page before anyone gets a chance to look at them.

I dont' think that it has anything to do w/ you at all.

I find that when I comment one a lot of LOs, I tend to get more people looking through my gallery as well, and in return, posting on some of mine.

Sorry you haven't gotten any props lately.

I experience similar things. I come to comment on several layouts but the site has been so slow, that I finally give up and move on to other things. Too bad too, because I usually block off 30 minutes a day to do nothing but comment on gallery layouts.

I'd suggest two things to help you get more comments on your LOs:
First, put a link in your siggy to your gallery. When you post on the forums, we can click on your userid to get to your gallery, but not the case in the gallery when you comment on other folks' LOs. The reason I mention it is that I will often take a look at the galleries of folks who post comments on my LO's, and anything you can do to make that easier will get you more comments.
The other is to participate in challenges, which it sounds like you are already doing.

I know some folks have posted about slow gallery, forums or other erratic site behavior, and Amy hasn't made any changes behind the scenes that might be causing it. Hopefully, we can 'push' through and keep on posting anyway!

At the beginning of this year I started my own form of RAK (random act of kindness), I go through the gallery and pick 3 LO's with less than 3 comments and make sure I make a comment on the LO. I tend to go to the bottom of the todays gallery postings or the next page and find ones that have been up for quite a few hours already. After that if I feel like keeping on going I do! I tend to only upload LO's from the 10pm or midnight crops as being in Australia it is already 5pm EST by the time I log in each day - I find that if I give comments I get comments and generally get at least 3 comments per LO (some get alot more I think one got 13comments). I think if you go in and join in on crops regularly you will get more comments as new friends can be super supportive - this I have found.

Hope your comment gallery picks up and I will now get off here and go look at YOUR gallery!

I agree that it probably has a lot to do with the time of day you post. I'm always posting mine late at night because that's when I get to do my scrapping. The family won't give me peace during the day long enough. lol Anyway, I have also noticed that I'm bad about posting right after a crop, so it's understandable that I don't get a lot of comments or any at all sometimes. I would tend to agree with the suggestion to participate in more crops, as well. I participated in a crop a while back and got 13 comments. lol I usually only average about 3. So that tells me that statement holds true. I don't think it's personal at all.

Great idea to comment on those galleries that don't have a lot of comments. How nice! I think I may do that, too. I'm sure it's very much appreciated. :-)
