I am sorry you feel this way! I agree that time of day does matter but it shouldn't.
I try to hit the gallery as much as I can (but remember there are tons of layouts uploaded a day!) but IMHO some are here to just post layouts and not to leave comments or participate in the site.Not sure if that is correct or not but just an observation and not pointing fingers either.
If I click on a layout to take a looksie I leave a comment, I would love it if everyone would try this. I mean you clicked on it for some reason, leave some love

it might make someone's day!

I can understand where you're coming from. I used to get lots of comments, and the number I get has really declined in recent months. I keep reminding myself that comments are not the reason I do layouts, but it's still is fun to get them. I've been trying to do a better job of posting comments myself. I think there are sooo many posting layouts because the site has grown so much that if you post at a busy time of day, your layout moves off the first page rather quickly and I know there are times I don't get past the first page of commenting before my computer time is interrupted. Keep posting! This really is THE best DigiScrapbooking site around!

O.k. - here we go - I post A LOT of comments - because I WANT to. However, I am finding that this is not being reciprocated, so my commenting has dropped. I find it extrememly rude to not reciprocate a comment - that is strictly my opinion though. There are so many pages I am not commenting on anymore because they don't reciprocate. There - I said it. lol! I do not scrap to get comments, but like everyone here has said - it sure feels good to receive them! I will still always be active in the gallery - there is too much talent here not to be!!

I try to spend 30 minutes a day posting comments but that barely scratches the surface anymore. I also focus on the challenges that I take part in, like the sketch challenge, the font challenge, and photo challenge. And I try to return the love to the people that comment on mine.

I belong to a photo forum and they limit the number of posts per day so that everybody can get a chance to comment. Might not be a bad idea, I've seen as many as 20 LOs from a single poster in a single day here.

Amy I am sorry to make you feel sad. I check in at other scrapbooking sites, but this is the only site where I feel "at home." The forums here are lively - - I don't like posting at a site where it seems "stale" and there aren't any new posts.

I think the sheer volume of gallery postings here has something to do with the lack of comments I have been seeing. And yes - its true - I do not scrapbook for the comments, I scrapbook for myself as a form of expression. But since the gallery is no longer open to my friends and family without them having a login, the main reason I have to post here is to share with other like-minded people. And if they are not commenting or my layouts seem to get lost....

Well, you get the idea.

Thanks to those who have looked at my little gallery. I will recipricate comments later today! I really enjoy looking at people's works of art here and hope my comments can brighten another scrapbookers day.

I think a BIG part of it is just the opposite of what you think...people aren't going elsewhere, they're all coming here and they are SO MANY new layouts posted every day, it's hard for people like me, who have limited time to do more then look, to do hardly any commenting. THe site is pretty slow these days and that prevents alot of people from opening gallery thumbnails and commenting, even if they are thinking it!

I would like to agree with participating in event/challenges or adding a link in your signature doesn't make a difference. I don't seem to get comments from others in the challenge other than the ones leading it and it is disheartening. I have started posting other places to see what kind of action I get there and you know what i get a lot more from other sites. I think a lot of this has to deal with SBB getting so BIG! I still come here and participate and upload from time to time. I hope you find what you are looking for, some great feedback to help you improve. That is always what I want! TFS you ideas/comments. I understand where you are coming from.
