Kelly, you should certainly stay with the higher resolution until you have had the opportunity to learn more about this debate - you can downsize at a later date if you wish, but would not be able to increase resolution without some loss of quality. There seems to be a general standard amongst designers for 300ppi in the kits and elements they create, but there are a few who make their kits at 200ppi.

I scrap at 300 dpi because this is what my usual printing company requires and because most if not all kits come in 300 dpi now.
My computer likes 200 dpi better, it seems to execute faster. However, there is no sense in sizing the elements down to 200 dpi, doing the layout in 200 dpi and then resizing everything back to 300 dpi. I'm not very knowlegable about all this so, before I screw something up, I leave everything as is.

Unless I have scanned-in photos that just cannot be enlarged without ruining them, I scrap at 300dpi. Or, if I have a layout that will never be printed, I do 72dpi just to save rendering time.

I am a 300ppi scrapper. The products I make and purchase are all 300ppi so it just makes life easier.

Oh no,200 DPI makes my life easier by following reasons.
1. 200 DPI is still enough for good printing quality.
2. 300 DPI kits slow down my program.
3.I'm on a farm with no possiblity to get DSL one day.Downloading such huge kits takes forever.By this reason I buy my stuff elsewhere as they sell 200 DPI graphics only.
