I found flylady almost over a year ago. My dd was just a few months old and I was starting to feel overwhelmed. She really helped me to look at life in a series of routines. My favorite one that has meant the most to me is shining my sink. Becasue before, I would leave dishes in the sink and in the morning I would get so bummed at myself and I just started the day behind. Now, I have the dishes out of the sink and the kitchen clean right after dinner before I go upstairs to start my daughters "go to bed" routine. It is nice to get up in the morning and start fresh. I am also so glad that we do not live in CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) anymore. I know that I don't have to worry about someone stopping by and being embarassed because the house is usually decluttered. Now don't get me wrong, I am by no means a "super flylady" I am terrible about a lot of it BUT it has truly helped me. I have stopped getting the emails because they were making me crazy. But they really do help remind you of what you should be doing.

Good luck!

flybaby hangin' in there with you,
Lana

So let me see if I am getting this right, she de-clutters your home and clutters up the e-mail box? That is just too funny! LOL
I need all the help I can get, so will give it a try. I will, however, set up a separate account for the flylady... Thank you for the suggestion!

Thanks for all your input. I have set up a separate e-mail folder and it's much better now. I actually did follow some of the reminders like cleaning my sink (can't shine it because it's black), doing the laundry and the 15-minute fly. I guess that's not too bad for the first week. My resolution for next week is to start the before-bed routine. I am not used to this and I am interested to see how it goes and whether I can keep it up. I do think that the shoe reminders are pretty silly (she might have a point, but I ain't gettin' it LOL). I am yet to figure out how to selectivly delete e-mail like cybermom suggested. I guess I'll just delete those e-mails and go on.

Also you can set your email from her to digest and get a whole days worth in one email a day. That helped me.

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. It's been awhile since I followed flylady and I am in desperate need to get back on track. You all really encouraged me to do so, reminding me of the freedom it allows if I stick to it.
