I use 8.5 by 11" postbound, top-loading albums - I just started and have three albums I'm working on (Our wedding last year, our "family" album (Who cares if its just the two of us!) and an album of our cats (we have three)).

I don't have an LSS near me, or even a Michael's for that matter. I looked on eBay for albums,m but there are very, very few 8.5 by 11" albums, and those that I did find were either military or infant in nature.

I finally got to an A.C. Moore and found they had 8.5" by 11" top loading, post bound albums by Pioneer. I like them, and several people (including kids) have looked through them and they seem very sturdy. I bought three with mulberry paper covers, and I like them. Pretty enough to leave out all the time, and I kept the plastic cover on them to prottect the cover. The page protectors with black page inserts are a buck cheaper than the white inserts... no idea why, but since I place a printed page on either side of the page insert, you can't see it anyways.

HTH!

For now I just keep my 8.5 x 11 pages in page protectors in d-ring binders. I'm hoping to put them into a presentation binder where you can insert a page in the front of the cover(and the back too, I think) and the spine. For this I want to scrapbook a special cover/title page. And I keep my albums on my coffee table.

Where are you guys finging nice d-ring binders? I keep picturing office-supply style binders...

Marcee - you could upload them to www.ofot.com or www.shutterfly.com or one of those online sites and pay for them to be printed. Or take a CD or memory stick to WalMart, WalGreens, Costco, etc. to have them printed.

I used to use a three ring binder styled album

but my friend gave me a Dalee post bound top loading album and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.....Did I say I love it? Everything is so neat and lies flat and all together. I am sticking with this style for the time being. Now I just need to find someone that sells them in Canada, or at least ships to Canada. Otherwise I have to order them, have them shipped to a friend in the states and have them ship it to me.

Anywone know where I can get Dalee albums and sheet protectors in Canada?

Hi Maya. Here in our small town(pop.5000) in Northern BC, I can find the Dalee Albums(among others) in both drug stores, the stationery store, and a scrapbooking store that has tonnes of scrapbooking stuff. Any store that carries scrapbooking supplies should be able to get them, I'm sure.

I use 3-ring binders that I get at LSS. I've also done a few post bound albums. I like the fact that there's no big gutter and the pages lay nice and flat. However most of mine are still works in progress. (With the exception of a couple of travel albums.) I tend to work on my pics as the mood or inspiration strikes me, rather than sticking to one set of pics at a time. I'm also catching up on a backlog of 30+ years of pics I'm scanning from slides and negatives. I haven't worked chronologically so using the binders allows me to easily insert the pages wherever they need to be.
I've done a couple of gift albums and used the Pioneer post bound for these. All have top loading sheet protectors.

For a coffee table book I'd use a post bound cause they look nicer and are easier to handle. My 10-12 albums (I'm not sure exactly how many) are kept on a shelf. Running out of shelf space so I have to decide where to go from here.
