Oh I just thought I would mention this...I copyrighted placing trim around windows & doors also...ya know that rectangle or square wood that frames them.....you all have to take it down...I copyrighted that placement...!!! Man come to think of it I should...image the money I could make sueing the world!
LOL sorry this is just amazing to me and I keep thinking up comparsions!

I think she is just trying to scare you off. Is she saying the the layout of the page is hers ( the sketch itself) or is it the content of the pictures- hand, foot, toes, etc. If that is the case,I've seen hundreds of layouts that have that kind of photo in it. I'm sure she's not the first to use it. I would think the copyright she has should specify what EXACTLY is her idea. Then if yours is the same, even though you didn't mean it to be, you'll have to change yours. I guess that would be a case of dumb luck- you didn't know. She better have same darn good proof of what is HER idea like she's claiming.

This is just too bizarre! I can't believe that a layout can be copyrighted! Would love to hear what sort of "proof" this nutcase thinks she has "registered with the US Copyright office".

Ditto to sherry i am starting to see where she is going with this. I had a feeling that she was not looking for your service's for her use but checking out the competition..... I wonder if in her mind because some or your lo are close ( but by no strech of the imaginations the same lo) she is afraid that you have stolen something from her. Afraid that you saw her sight and are trying to ride her wave as it where. I hope everything works out ok .. and please do keep us informed.

Granted, the layouts look very similar, but so do hundreds of layouts and who is to say which one was first? The announcements are cute, but not unique. I saw a disclaimer about the website content being protected by applicable law. This just means that she could come after you if you copy her website; however, I don't see this applicable to individual layouts. Heck if she would apply this to each individual layout, Amy could copyright every single layout posted on this website. (Now don't get any ideas now Amy ya hear me. LOL)
