I have to admit that the gallery is my favorite place to post...I love seeing all of the new creations, and enjoy seeing people use the same kits in different ways Receiving comments on my layouts always makes me feel happy, so I try to comment on as many layouts as I can when I visit SBB...not just the ones that really get my attention because I think everyone deserves to have at least one comment made on each of their layouts

As far as what I like to have people tell me in a comment...anything is fine...just a kind word always makes my day

WOW am I ever behind getting in the gallery to comment!! I used to spend lots, too much time in fact, commenting. Used to I'd comment on just about every lo. There's usually something about them all that I like

Now~well recently before I started back to work~I pop open the ones that REALLY grab me. I also comment on friends pages and on ones that have commented to me.

I LOVE comments and the people here have been good to me~nice to spread the love

I love commenting in the gallery! I spread the love around equally to everyone whether they are a beginner or advanced in their scrapping. I had read that you're supposed to "return" the comment which I think is nice and I do it for everyone that leaves me a comment. I think I get quite a bit of comments (thank you Jody and Linda who comment on all my LO's- they are the BEST!!!) but as far as the whole returning the praise- I would say only 1 out of the 10 people that I comment on will do it, so I find that interesting. It doesn't stop me, though! I just know that I love the gallery because it truly inspires me and gives me great ideas!

I guess that I'm one of the guilty ones in the not "returning" comments.... I don't want anyone to feel under that obligation to me.

I try to comment on at least 10 layouts each time I get to the gallery, and as someone posted a few posts before, I try to do more than just hey, great layout comments as they begin to feel very impersonal.

I just go through all the new layouts posted, because I use Firefox and have broadband I can open 4 or 5 layouts at a time and cycle through them all....

But as for what catches my eye? I have no idea!! Sometimes it's a great picture, sometimes it's using multiple pictures because I still find that very hard to do.... sometimes it's because I recognise the name, or even because it's been posted in a busy time and appears to have been overlooked. If they make me smile, or feel anything, I try to return the favour!

Sorry- this left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I had to comment on it.

There are a few people that I have in my regulars list that I often leave comments with- friends like Jody and Linda as I mentioned earlier (just to use them as an example.) I love seeing what they've come up with and I have never felt "obligated" to them. I comment on all their layouts because I want to. I certainly hope that they don't feel obligated to me (or anyone else that visits.) Then there are the other regulars that I just browse their galleries and I don't have to comment on all their layouts but they know I'm around and that's good enough for all of us (or it really should be!) This is not about obligation- I just brought up the whole returning comments deal because I think it's just common courtesy and the nice thing to do. It takes less than a minute. Not everyone has fancy programs to work with but they all have something of value to share- whether it be a really cute kid, making their own graphics, photography or whatever. The funny thing is, I think it's the "norm" for the majority of people NOT to return comments (unless it's someone that's a part of their friends network.) This is where the exclusion comes in. I mean, how can anyone shine or improve if no one wants to acknowledge them at all? This is a community, it's supposed to be all about scrapbooking, but unfortunately it's a bit clique-y (like most communities.) I've seen a ton of galleries with like 2 comments and their work is amazing. Then, on the other hand, there are newbies and people "under the radar" so to speak that don't return comments, either- so it works both ways.

So, that's what I was curious about in the first place.

I post on the LO's that catch my eye. I also try to comment on whoever leaves me comments because it's just the nice thing to do
