Not my first LO every but my first LO using PSCS2 :P

Hello!

I have been using PSP for years and I have yet to really try PS for scrapping.. Well I have tried a few times but get fustrated because I am so used to PSP and do not know my way around PS all that much.... I have owned PSCS2 for sometime now so I thought I would get my feet wet tonight in trying it for scrapping. I usually just use it for my RAW photos.
Here is my first LO I have ever done in PS,
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...p?photo=141232

I have a question for all the PSCS2 users..
Is there a tool where you can resize, like make smaller & larger .. Like if I wanted to make the photo inside of that LO a little smaller is there a tool in the palette that will let me as they call in PSP 'deform' it?

TFL!!!! And I hope to be using more of PS when I get used to it more I am just hoping there is a tool like I am asking becuase I use that ALLLLLLLLLLLL the time in PSP.

Welcome to PSCS2 - which I happen to just love as my scrapping program.

To change the size of an object in CS2 you can do it a couple of ways. First, with the move tool selected and the layer of your photo selected in the layers palette, you can just drag the corners - and to keep it in correct proportions, hold down the shift key as you drag.

The other way is to use the free transform - which is located under the Edit function on the menubar. Or you can do Edit>Transform and from the flyout choose Scale. On the options bar at the top click on the link in between width and height to keep the proportions the same. Actually this locking can be done on the options bar with Free Transform also.

Here's a quick tutorial I wrote that has a screenshot of doing this with the "scrubby" feature.

Using the Scrubby in PSCS2

Hope this helps and I'm sure we'll be seeing you in the Photoshop section as you learn this wonderful program.

You can use the keyboard command Ctrl-t to get to Transform. While you are in that, right click inside the Transform box and you will find a whole set of commands. Some of them are very useful in normal scrapping, some you will only use once in a while, but it is good to know where they are and how to get to them.

In addition, there are Smart Objects. Again, right click on the object and choose it from the drop down menu. If you think you might need to make something bigger again, after making it smaller or just tilting it with the Transform tool, turning it into a Smart Object is a good idea. It turns the object into a vector object and it can't loose resolution no matter what you do with it.
