Suggestions for element downloads

I am getting frustrated looking through the free downloads and shop every time I need an element for a page. It seems like it takes me forever to get a layout finished because I an spending so much time searching for specific elements. Does anyone have any good suggestion for all around basic element downloads that can be used with most layouts. I am thinking of photo corners, brads, eyelets, book plates, etc. Thanks!

I have found that no matter how many staples, brads, etc I have, I always go back to Shabby Princess and use hers. They just seem to go with everything. She has several free kits on her site and the staples I always use are from her Shabby Smiles and Shabby Tea Party kits. I've got so much downloaded that I never go through sites or store looking for specific stuff when I make a page.

Have you looked through the store here at SBB? I think someone has an element pack just with staples, photo prongs, eyelets and such.

That is so funny because I always use those SP staples too!!!

To the original poster: do you buy kits? I always go through my kits, see what I really love and will use again, and then send a copy to a SCRAP SUPPLIES ~~> ELEMENTS folder I have. Then I have sub-folders, like "metals", "flowers", "charms". etc. I know I can always go in there and grab some basics... it just takes a little while to acquire a good stash!

I do the same thing as Gina... I have a "fastners" folder that I copy all kinds of stuff to. When I find something I like-- be it a prong, a staple or even a line of stitching, a copy of it goes in that folder. Saves me from having to search thru all my kits. And so I know who made it, after I copy it I right click and go to properties and add in the necessary info.
