Question Scrapbooking programs

What kinds of program (or combination of programs) do you use when digital scrapbooking? I have Broderbund Printshop Deluxe but have found that this program doesn't come close to doing what I want it to do. Some examples are vellum and tearing (only in the places you want to tear). I have considered Paintshop with Picture It! What do you think?? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. By the way, I'm new here. Hello to all!!!

welcome to sbb 9-1-1 mom!!!
i use microsoft's digital image pro version 7. there is a newer version (version 9) that has just been released. i'm unsure of how "much better" it works, but i have had a lot of complaints about it. if you're just starting out, i think that digital image pro is a great choice. it has a smaller learning curve (compared to some other programs) and is not intimidating for a beginnner.
also, photoshope elements is a great, great program (which i am currently trying to learn). it has a much higher learning curve but i hear that it is well worth it! it currently sells at walmart for less than $60. many programs have 30 day free trial downloads for you to try out and see what best fits you before you buy.
hope that helps some!!

Welcome to SBB!!! So glad you found us here

Val mentioned some great programs! They are very widely used around here...I'd say the most common are the Digital Image Pro, Paint Shop Pro, and Photoshop.

But...I'd like to mention another that is not quite as widely used, but I think you'd definitely benefit by including it in your research! It's Ulead PhotoImpact 8. It's comparable in price to DIP and offers the same ease of use and versatility (if not better!).

I wish you much luck in your search for a better program that suites you best, and I can't wait to see you get started! It's soooo addicting!

:P
