If you're familiar with my gallery at all, you'll note that I'm rather, well...umm...Prolific! LOL! I've scrapped over 800 pages in the 2 years that I've been doing digital scrapping. When I first started I bet most pages took me 3 or 4 hours, but the more I did, the faster I got, and now a layout generally takes me between 30 minutes and an hour (and I think they're so much better than my first ones that took me hours.)

I think I'm fast now because I know my program so well (although there is still sooo much about the program that I don't know) and because I have a huge stash of "stuff" to use. I'm really big into using kits, and for the most part, staying within those kits. That really makes it go fast for me because I use my creativity within the confines of the kit and everything is already put together for me.

I like to do simple, fast pages. It takes me maybe 30 minutes to an hour. The thing that takes me the most time is deciding which pictures to scrap.

Mine take me about 1-2 hours although I've done some in less than 30 minutes if there is an inspiration or scraplift to follow. I've found the less time I spend fussing over them the better they actually look because I don't have the time to overload them. Having your files organized (naming them so the search function pulls them up for you) really helps speed things up too.

On an average I take about 2-3 hours for a LO. Sometimes the ideas just flow & I have even completed it in 1/2 hour. There are still a good few in my "to be completed" folder...you know the stuck in a rut ones LOL!! - Nisha

It can take me anywhere from 20 min to 2 1/2 hours to complete a LO. On average most of my LO's are completed in about 45 min. I get so frustrated when it takes me 2 hours to do a LO.. I just don't understand why it is taking so long LOL

Good question

Sometimes, I can whip out a layout in an hour, but most times it takes me close to 2 hours. I am more careful when I am doing creative team work than when I'm doing something just for me. Sometimes it takes me longer to pick out the pictures than it does to scrap them. When I do the second page for a layout, it might only take 15 minutes because I'm not as focused on it as the more creative feature type page.

Jodi, you just outlined a skill I need to learn. I have tried using one kit per page, and when I do, even my layout ideas come from the kits at times, and it ensures all my pages look different.

I can do a page in under an hour, if I sit at the computer with an idea already started. If not, it can take hours, and at times I'll save and start again later. I have got a lot more proficient over the year I've been scrapping, though.

It really depends and it depends on so many variables.

Do I know which pictures I want to use and can I find them? It can take me up to 4 hours to find/pick the photos (even though they are mostly scanned and on cd's at the end of my desk).

Am I going to use a kit or pick elements from various kits? Sometimes it just takes minutes for me to decide and pick elements. But it has taken 2 hours of indecision and changing my mind.

Actually doing the scrapping. Well if I use a sketch, the layout takes a few minutes assuming my computer cooperates. if I don't use a sketch usually 1-2 hours. Needless to say I love sketch based challenges.

Then there's doing the touch ups and fonts. That takes me up to a half hour unless I'm looking for quotes/poems or photo editing. In which case, 1-2 hours more.

Usually most of this goes well and I get it done in about 1-2 hours, but it really depends. I often post them here right away. But I usually stare at them for a day or 2 before I let my super critical husband see them and start making me question whether there was anything good about my work. I rarely change anything in that day or 2, but it's nice to take a step back before getting that critique.
