I just leave the computer on overnight. I queue everything I want to download and start it off when I go to bed. Right click and select "download ALLwith DAP". In the next window that opens up, at the bottom right corner is a dropdown box that says Download Now. Click on the arrow next to it and select "Add to queue". I just add everything I want to download (you can select from more than one site). When I'm ready to download I double click on the DAP icon on the toolbar and select "Resume all". I don't know if you there is a way to set a timer or not. I'll have a look and let you know if I find anything.

Hi, I am new around here, I just wanted to say don't give up on high speed being available in your area. I know there is probably no chance of dsl ever being able in our area. We looked at the satelite high speed through direct tv but I just couldnt afford it. Well surprisingly in the last few months a new service became available in our area. I don't know the exact 'stuff' ' about it but we have to have a little dish on our roof that communicates with the company in town about 10 miles away. It only cust 99.00 for set up and the fee is pretty small every month. I had the choice of three speeds and chose the slowest and it is fantastic. I imagine this type of service will be popping up more and more in rural areas.

Sherry,
I checked and you can schedule your downloads. Open DAP. Click on Options then click on Scheduler. You can set it to run daily or on selected days and times. I haven't used it before so I'm just giving it a trial run now. Will let you know how it goes.

Sherry,
To download at one off selected times:

In the Scheduler window:
Select "Start Scheduler at......."
In the timer underneath: Click on the Hour and adjust. Click on the Minutes and adjust.
Select "Once at....." and select the date.
In "When scheduled download begins" I just selected the first option.

In "After scheduled downloads stopped/finished" you can select none, 1, 2 or all options. (I selected none of them in this instance because I still wanted the computer on. If I was scheduling for when I went to bed I'd just select the "turn off computer" option.)

Apply the settings.

To schedule your files:
When you right click your files and select "Download ALL with DAP" they go into the "paused" status. Open the main DAP window. Click on "paused" to see all the files you have selected.
Highlight them all and drag them into "Scheduled". You may get a popup that says only files sorted by "status" can be moved. If so, just above the selected files click on "status" button. Now you can drag the files into "Scheduled".
You can now close off this window. The DAP icon will remain on the toolbar.
At the selected time the downloads will start.

If you need help just holler.

ETA: Make sure the "current time" is correct in the Scheduler window of DAP.

Thanks so much Kim. I've given all this information to my friend so she can get set up at home.
