I must say "I agree with Aprila". I am soooo unorginized with this, which is the exact opposite of everything else in my life. Hmmm maybe thats why I can't really do what I'm thinking. Maybe I should re-start with organizing, then start (attempting) to do layouts!

Generally when things are unorginized for me I can't think straight and get cranky...I tend to get further behind or do nothing.

Okay...so I'm off to organize and restart...back in a day or two!

I just started scrapping in January. i have no kids, just three kitties and a hubby to scrap. And a few neices and nephews. I have been jumping around, but I think once I get some of the projects I have in mind out of the way, I will be a chronological scrapper.

hmmm....good question!! my cg layouts are in no order at all! in "this" realm i'm more of a "moment"'s scrapper and scrap whatever tickles my fancy at the time. as far as my paper album, i pretty much scrap in order, that is to say that i recently "caught up" on last years pics and now i am working on pics from 2003 although i dont scrap them (and they dont go in my album) in exactly the chronicalogical order in which they were taken. every few months i go print all the pics (from those few months) that i want to scrap and scrap them in whatever order i want to and whatever way the fit best together. i have a christmas album which will be in order once i start putting pics in there.

also, seeing as i still need to do my children's baby albums (which will be paper too), i guess i'm kinda scrapping out of order. but, one album will be in "order" and the other one will be an 'abc' album so wont neccessarily be in any order.

did i even answer the question here??

I just started scraping abput a year ago and my kids are now 14 & 17 so I'm about 16 years behind. I scrap from both ends of the time line. I try to keep up with the current stuff and then go back and do the baby stuff on up. I'm concentrating on my 17 year olds stuff as he will graduate next year and I' like to have as much done as possible for graduation but realistically I'll never catch up. I also throw in a little work on my wedding album (19 years later) and a simple album for a junior hockey player who lives with us. I don't think it really matters where you start, just that you are enjoying the process. As the old saying goes "It's not the destination, it's the journey" that makes it worthwhile.

I just started scrapping less than a year ago. I have kids ages 20, 18 years and 21 months old. I am not being funny or sarcastic when I say I don't understand the concept of "being caught up" or even trying for that matter. Even if time stood still I am quite sure I would never run out of material to scrap, so there is nothing to catch up with. However, time doesn't stand still and with a digital camera, I take hundreds of photos every week.

I could NEVER work in any sort of order or organizational format. I am striclty an "as inspired" type of artist.

Well I don't necessarily plan to ever totally catch up I don't really think it is possible but, I would like to be more close to being up to date and I would like to have the last 2 years scrapped because those are from my childs first two years I started with the pregnancy and I'm working my way up towards the present while doing the present in otherwords I'm working to meet in the middle...it just gives me a goal to work towards...I'm a goal oriented person and I just "work" that way...but, also like you said I have a digital camera also and in the last month I have shot over 1500 pictures I don't ALWAYS shoot I shoot every now and then around the house and at every special occasion as it is my occupation as well and if I shot all the time I feel I might get bored with it...I try to capture all the important milestones but, sometimes it just isn't humanly possible...

scrap as I feel it - jump around but am scrapping lots of my new baby girl.... I've got two older boys and couldn't wait to use pink! Still no digital layouts of any of my kids... I've been practicing on family - but was including them as title breaks in the picture CDs I was giving them...
