Talking "First" Real Layout

Okay, if you get technical I’m not a newbie I have been lurking here in the shadows for a while now. I will blame it on not having enough spare time to play, but I finally did it, I finally posted in my opinion my first real layout. Please check it out….Tell me what you think it’s a Christmas gift. Any hoo… a little bit about me… I have been called a work alcoholic no more I say… After getting laid off last Monday from my Scrapbooking job, I will only be working 5 days a week when I start my new job none design related on Monday… I use to work 7 days a week that’s the reason I’m just now posting after so many months. I love this website by the way just bought a subscription a couple days agao, it was a early gift to myself. I’m a Graphic Designer though I no longer have a job in the field… but I’m working on that. I am currently engaged to a wonderful man and have no kids or furry creatures to scrap about, so if you see anything it most likely will be like this layout… my fiancés son or my beautiful niece which I am hoping to start making a baby book for…. Well now that I have talked your ear off… I hope to get to know you all a little bit better…

Tiffany

It looks great to me. I'm not into digital scrapbooking though. I don't have a good photo editing program. I like to do mine the 'old fashioned way'. But yours looks great.

Nice layout, Tiffany! I like how you combined the B&W and color in your photos.

Smile Welcome!

Welcome! I think your LO looks great and it will be a wonderful Christmas gift. I know you will love it here, everyone is so nice. I just posted my first LO last week.

I made my mom a digi layout book for her 50th birthday on November 9th and she loved it. I had planned to post those, but I accidently erased them from my CD/RW.

Tiffany, So glad you came out from the margins - your work is beautiful (left comments in your gallery). Congrats on the engagement and I wish you much success in your chosen career. BTW, a really fun way to get a variety of pictures to scrap is to join in the Photo Swap (http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/chat/...d.php?t=16437).

It's wonderful, Tiffany! I have left you a praise . I'm a workalcholic too... I guess most designers are because they just love what they're doing! Wish you all the bestest in finding annother, better, designing job! Be prepared to be addicted to digital scrapbooking, tho'! ';-P

I love your layout. Love the quote, too . The quote is by Nicole Louise Divino. I got it from http://www.thinkexist.com . That's really the best place to go for quotes, btw, you just type in a word and it searches through all of the quotes for you.

Are you going to be scrapping 8x10? I know this was a gift, so I know you wanted it to fit a frame. I started out doing 8x10, but then decided to do 8x8 instead, since it seems all the layouts here are square, and sometimes it's hard to adapt an idea I like from a square into a rectangle.

I used to be a workaholic, too. I was an electrical engineer until I had DD and quit. I'm finding that I've found all new things to obsess about, and many times have still found something that keeps me up until all hours to finish, even though I no longer have an official job.
