Question Help with kits ..

First I want to say thank you for all the designers who have shared in the download section.
I have literally been on this computer for two hours straight ....WOW

1. question .. Why do I keep getting kicked off and then have to log back in?
I will be in the middle of looking at a gallery or something and then it will say I do not have
access and I will look and I am not logged in anymore?

2. I have tried to search for this but how do I use my elements and kits in PSP X?
Do I just choose what I want then drag and drop on a new layer? For examples the
ribbons or something?

Again I feel like I just went shopping at the Scrapbook store. I am so excited to play with
all of my free downloads but just not sure how to get them into my program...

Thank you again for sharing your wonderful masterpieces ....
One day soon I hope to be able to share with you....

Smile it Contagious !!!

Welcome! Glad to have you here.
1. I can't help with question No. 1. Have no idea why you get logged out.
2. Here's the short version on making a layout in PSP X. Put your elements in a folder where you can easily find them. Use the browser palette on PSP X to navigate to that folder. Create a blank layout page. (I make mine 300 pixels per inch, with a transparent background, and just make it whatever size in inches that I'd like. Most people here scrap 12 by 12 inches.) Then just drag whatever background or element, say, a ribbon, you'd like up onto the blank page. Use the "pick" tool to resize them, move them or turn them at angle.

I hope I've helped a bit.

Good luck!

What program are you using. If you need help getting started, the best place to look is in the tutorials section of the website- there are individual programs listed. There is usually a tutorial on how to do a basic layout. You can also ask questions in the forum section of your program too. Good Luck and have fun. It's overwhelming when you first start. Also check out the threads on organizing your new haul of stuff- that can get out of control really fast.

Sherry had a good idea to look at the tutorials here. Here's one for PSP: http://scrapbook-bytes.com/cgi-scrip...icle_269.shtml

I am just going to mention this....since it seems so many new people are cunfused by these zip files.

You need to unzip the items inorder to use them in your programs, it is like unwrapping a christmas present!!
You however seem like you are knowledgeable about computers and would know enough to do this, but I see it often in Chat were people claim they can't use their elements, but they haven't unzipped the files first!! Here is a great resource for everything PSP brushes, actions, masks...have fun!

I wish I could help you with the logging out thing, but I've been having the same problem lately. I thought maybe it was some new spyware remover program my dh installed. But if you've been having the same problem, maybe that's not it. I hope we both figure out an answer.
