Everything IS on C drive. My Documents is just another folder on C Drive as is My Pictures. I don't know why too many extra folder in My Pictures slows things down. I just know it does.

In My Documents I have a folder called Elements. Inside that folder I have lots of folders according to category: eg. Bows/Ribbons, Floral, Baby, School, Tags, Slides etc. I also have folders called Burn Page Sets, Burn Quickpages, Burn Alphabets, Burn Backgrounds.

When I download elements/kits I just download them into the general Elements folder. After I unzip them I put them into the correct category folder. Kits are unzipped and put into their own folder which is then dragged into the "Burn Page Sets" folder. I make a copy of the preview file for the kit and put it into a folder called Thumbnails. When I have around 500 megs of kits I burn them to a DVD. When the DVD is full I print off the thumbnails to keep with the DVD. I then delete the kits from my computer. I copy the DVD and keep it at my mums "just in case".

A great tool for dealing with duplicate files is called DoubleKiller -- it's free and you can download it at http://www.bigbangenterprises.de/en/doublekiller/. (I think I got it from www.download.com originally).

Another thing you can do is to use a download manager -- I use Free Download Manager -- and it tells me if I have already downloaded a file. You can get it (also free) from http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/. But more importantly, a download manager will speed up downloads and even help you resume any broken downloads.
