I wish I could help. But I don't know photoshop (I use paint shop pro) and I'm not computer savvy. I've only made one or two blinkies, and they only had a few layers. How did you save each layer? Did you compress it as a jpeg? If not, that might help.

I hope somebody who knows more will see your post. You could also try posting down below in the photoshop forum. I would think somebody more familiar with your program might be able to help.

What resolution did you use for your blinkie? 5MB for a blinkie, even with 40 layers, seems way too much. My blinkie below has 20 layers and has about 38k.
My only idea is to check the resolution, maybe you did it accidentally with 300 dpi???

For the web you don't need more than 72....

Let us know how it turned out after reducing the resolution.

Ok, I changed the resulation and saved each layer as a JPG but each JPG is still about 50k. so with 40 layers at 50k thats still going to make the 2Mg.. any idea why i cant make it smaller???

I don't understand completely. What do you mean when you say you saved each layer as a jpg file? You did the blinkie in image ready, right? So all those 40 layers are in one file and that file is stored as .gif file, once the blinkie is done, isn't it?
Have you checked the measurements of the blinkie? How many pixels is it wide and high?
