Question Dumb Question alert!!!

Hi,

I am using Windows XP and Download Accelerator Plus download manager, in order to download the trial version of PSP X I need to disable DAP. The big question is how do I do that? I have searched within DAP and can't find anything and don't know where to look in XP.

Please help!

Jules

Jules, no help here either I'm afraid. Have you tried searching for it? Perhaps others have had the same problem.

If you go to the help button on your start button and type in gpedit and search that, I know there is a place where you can disable programs and stop them from running automatically. This will disable the program so you download and then you can re-activate the program when you're done.

Hope this helps

Jules, this is NOT a dumb question. You have to disable it to download fonts from DaFont com and it is such a chore that I rarely do it! Just telling it to "stop" doesn't do the trick at all. I am at work. I will check in when I get home and if you still haven't gotten an answer I will post what I have to do in order to shut it down. Wish I could remember but it is tedious and I need to go through it to be sure I am correct.

P.S. I don't know about gpedit--perhaps that works for you. I use msconfig at the run command.

download managers reck havoc many times for some users in our store too b/c it keeps trying to reconnect to the download and we only permit x amount of download attempts and then the order has to be reset.

Jules
open the DAP window
on the top menu bar go to tool > options
in the "general" options window, there are 2 boxes with lists of file extensions at the bottom of the options window
delete all the file extensions in the upper box and hit close
when you are done downloading the PSPX, you can open this again and restore with the default button (and hit close)
