Arrow Once again

I just wanted to get some clarification on what is and isn't okay.

This is what I understand, can someone tell me if I am on the right track?

For kits you intend to sell...

1. You can create EVERYTHING yourself and not worry about copyrights
2. You can use fonts that you have gotten approval to use or have purchased a license
3. You can use brushes that you have gotten approval to use or have puchased a license

For kits you give away...

1. You can create EVERYTHING yourself and not worry about copyrights
2. You can use free fonts with or without approval but give credit
3. You can use free brushes with or without approval but give credit

I am so confused and hope someone can help me see the light.

Thanks,

I find this whole issue very confusing as well. I'd love to hear the answer. You've laid it out very nicely.

For kits you attend to sell then your terms are correct
For kits you intend to give away the first part is right however the 2nd and third points depends on the terms of use. Its very grey so read the terms carefully and if any doubt don't use them.

one point to mention IMHO - you should always be concerned about copyright whether it's free or commercial driven

Thanks

As mentioned I am concerned with copyrights and very hesitant to even post in fears that I may not credit properly. Lately I have been creating my own papers, elements, etc and don't know if I can share them or not. That was the main purpose of my original email.

For the first time I am quite pleased with the results but didn't know what was or wasn't okay to do.

One thing to remember about font usage is that even fonts you have bought may not be okay to use in alphas. Some font designers see this as redistributing the font which is typically against the TOU. I would contact the creator for the okay assuming the font didn't come with your software.

Free kits are often given away as a way to "introduce people" to a new designer. The end point being that you are giving away freebies in order to "advertise" your skills. Some font and brush designers may see this as a commercial use, so be careful.
