Question I need printing help

I just learned about digital scrapbooking and decided to get into it. I only want to print off certain things and do the rest of the scrapbooking by hand. I wanted to know what kind of ink and paper I need to use so that the photos and other elements in the scrapbook do not get damaged. Do I need to use any other kind of paper besides the basic copy paper to maintain the quality of the scrapbook? Thank you for helping.

If you're printing on an inkjet printer, it's better to print photos on photo quality paper. If you go to the computer store or office supply store there will be all kinds of paper that is rated as photo quality paper. Most manufacturers recommend that you use the same brand of paper and ink as the printer you own. Some folks follow this advice and some don't.

If you're planning on printing out a basic LO and then embellishing it by hand, I'd still recommend that you print on a higher quality paper than copy paper. Your photos and elements will look MUCH better printed on photo quality paper than on plain copy paper.

Also you might find the article on printing in the tutorials helpful

HTH!

Question

Thank you for your help. Also, will the regular copy paper hurt the scrapbook at all if I do use it and what about the ink? Do I just use archival type ink? Also what kind of paper to I print journalingthings on and other embelishments?

Honestly I'm not sure if copy paper is acid and/or lignen free. Since I haven't seen it discolor like newspapers do so I'm assuming that the acid content is rather low. As far as I know there's not a specific type of printer ink that's truly archival rated.

Journaling could be printed on any type of paper. Some of my paperscrapping buddies have printed their journaling on sb paper. If you're printing out embellishments that are rather detailed (just about anything that you'd find here in the free downloads) I would print them on photo quality paper. That way the embellishments would look as realistic as possible. I probably would just matte paper instead of glossy though.

Just some of my thoughts. HTH!
