Talking It can be done! 12X12 borderless printing on Canon i9900

Just thought I would share this b/c I remember there were many posts on this subject that stated it couldn't be done. I assume the same thing would work on Epsons.

As any i9900 owner knows you can't get borderless 12X12 printing if you use Canon's printing software. However, this is how I have done it using PSCS on a Mac. I open up page set up and chose the i9900 pinter and then I choose A3+ 13X19 borderless. Then in PSCS I chose print with preview then uncheck center image and then make the top and left margins 0 and then I print. Viola!

I mention this b/c for the longest I have been using 13X19 paper and then trimming, but with this way of printing I can now switch back to the Epson's true 12X12 paper.

Good Luck!

Well, aren't you a clever girl! I don't have an Epson i9900, but I bet you've just made somebody's day!

That loud scream reverbrating throughout North America (and falsely reported as a pre-siesmic event in California) is ME. Why? Because I have to print out an entire album in the next couple of days, all 12 x12! I just bought a bunch of 13 x 19 paper and was fretting over the trimming (at which I stink, even armed with steel ruler etcetera). So now I will make a mad dash to wherever to pick up some Epson 12 x 12. HOOOOOOOO!

It might matter on some layouts where you have the extension guide on the borderless option. They recommend second to the right but I have pushed mine all the way left and that seems to leave the most pixels intact for me (I have lost a few pixels around the edge leaving it in the suggested position. No problem with bg paper but I don't like it when I have elements right at the edge such as ribbon).

Red face Sorry I can't be more helpful

1. PSCS stands for photoshop cs.

2. I don't see why you couldn't do the same in your program, but that is just a guess as I only use PSCS for Macs.

3. I don't know if the paper is avaiable in the UK, but will the epson site or Buy.com ship to the UK?

Talking Update

Ok, I have now just printed with Epson's (red box) true 12X12 paper and I just LOVE that paper! It feels like linen and you CAN print on both sides. Also, regarding my first post: if you don't want to lose the few pixels on the edge of your layout then set the top and left to 0.05 and 0.05, not 0. Good Luck!

Guikrazy you are a genious! I have the Epson 1280 and although (it still leaves me a very small border at the bottom) I now only have to cut off one side on the bottom instead of 4 sides. I can't seem to figure out the bottom. But it makes me happy because the paper fits width ways as to not to slide around in the album. I no longer put cardstock on the back.

Thanks again!!!!!!!
