Ask your printer on this one.... I don't think most photo finishers use separations (CMYK), my printer told me RGB and went through with me step-by-step on all the set-up options on my computer so my prints would match what I see on my monitor everytime.

When you're working with large documents, CMYK can also take up more memory... at least in my experience.

Use RGB for your scrapbook layouts.

CMYK is used in the printing industry when printing on a printing press and this process would not be used unless you are printing large quantities of something (thousands of copies or more). If you are submitting your layouts to be published in a magazine they will be converting your files to CMYK because they use printing presses to print the thousands and thousands of magazines. Same thing with books. But it's not something you will need to worry about with your scrapbook layouts.

The photo finishing machines all are based upon RGB colorspace whether you take your files to Cosco, Wal-Mart, your local camera store or use your own desktop inkjet photo printer. Even though my Epson wide-format 2200 printer has 7 ink cartridges (black, lt. black, yellow, magenta, lt. magenta, cyan & lt. cyan) and you might think that it uses CMYK colorspace it doesn't. It uses the RGB colorspace.
